Calico Ghost Town; Population - 32

Here outside of Barstow CA, our crew of 32 had the good fortune of staying in some interesting accommodations.  In this region there is a well-known ghost town with bunk houses that Janet and Paul - our two Calico Ghost Town host contacts - made available to our team.   

After arriving, SUS14 went to explore the town.  

After relaxing in the town and enjoying a lovely dinner at the Calico Ghost Ranch restaurant, Janet openned her home for our team to come swim and lay out by the lake.  

 

Of course, we had to swim out to the island shown in the picture and play with the rope swing.  We may be 18 to 26 year olds but really, we are all kids at heart.  

Finally, Janet has an affinity for animals so the group of us had the pleasure of feeding her turtle and playing with her two dogs.  

Our stay here in the eastern side of California certainly has been restful and memorable.
