There is not a single county
in the United States where an individual can work 40 hours a week at minimum
wage and afford a 1 bedroom apartment at fair market rental rates. This
sad state of the affordable housing situation is exacerbated when we break down
the problem of access to good housing by race. Immigrants and minorities
are overwhelmingly more impacted by the high cost of housing in America.
