Bison Stampede = Awesome!!!

We officially left the Grand Canyon this morning.  It's so hard to believe that tomorrow afternoon, we will be entering Zion.  The terrain between the two national parks adapts so quickly and drastically.  

This morning, as we were exiting the Grand Canyon national park, a heard of bison came upon us.  We also saw deer, hawks, and wild horses.  

I was saddened to see that on the Kaibob plateau fairly close to the national park, a fire has devastated the rolling pines.  

There are several members of our team from North Carolina and we all mentioned that the concept of a fire ban someone confounded us but here in the west, fire bans are a necessity because of the dry nature of the air and land.
