A Story Out Of "27 Hours"

A slot canyon is a narrow canyon formed by the wear from water.  Slot canyons can be extremely deep but measure as narrow as 3 feet across.

Yesterday, a teammate and I went exploring here in Kaibito to find the Kaibito Creek slot canyon.  A local told us that we just had to head toward the White Mesa to find the canyon but as it turns out, the White Mesa measures about 15 miles in length so that direction just told us to head cardinally south.  Still, after a while of walking through Navajo Nation, we found the canyon!!!

Today, we are headed to Page AZ where there is another, more famous slot canyon.  Anyone heard of Antelope Canyon?

Time for some exploring over the next few days as we jump from Kaibito Creek to Antelope Canyon, Horshoe Bend and Lake Powell to Jacob Lake to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon!  Wow, amazing memories await.
